Gary Peek is the Vice President of IT Business Solutions for Rent-A-Center, Inc., in Plano, Texas.

Gary joined RAC in 2013 in a newly created role to consolidate over 200 technology professionals on different development teams under a single group. Gary worked with his team to create a “world class development” culture as well as transformed the classic “waterfall” approach to an agile development organization based on the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

Prior to joining RAC, Gary served as the Director of Restaurant Technology for Yum! Restaurants International (division of Yum! Brands) driving restaurant technology strategy across 110+ countries outside the US with a focus on consumer-facing technologies (e-commerce, mobile, touch screen kiosk, digital signage, etc…) as well as all in-store technologies used by Pizza Hut, KFC and Taco Bell. Prior to his experience with Yum, Gary had built several software companies from the ground up that developed a wide variety of technologies for the restaurant industry that included customers in over 40 countries.

Gary and his wife, Cindy, have five children and are members of First Baptist Church in Frisco, Texas, where they currently teach 3rd graders and Gary serves on the Missions Committee. Gary has been passionate about working with children over the past 20 years and has served on the Board of Directors for Trinity Kids, Inc. (serving abused children in North Texas) for 17 years. He previously served on the Board of Directors for Mission Arlington (bringing church to the people through community services) for 8 years as well as the Advisory Board for The Gentlemen’s Society (working to train underserved youth to become gentlemen) in Fort Worth for several years. In addition, Gary founded the Links Fore Kids charity golf tournament in 2008 to raise money for Trinity Kids, Inc.
