Merv Tarde “Values in Leadership” Circle
Note: Submissions for the 2017 event are now open
* This video was done in 2015 so check our event page for this years event date.
One of the very first supporters of the DFW Technology Prayer Breakfast was our friend Merv Tarde. Merv was the Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer with Interstate Batteries for 16 years. He modeled Servant Leadership and was a humble leader in the DFW Technology Industry where he served on a variety of Industry Boards and Advisory Councils. His love for others and obedience to GOD has set the standard that we all should aspire to follow. Merv lost his battle with cancer in late 2014 and is in the arms of his Heavenly Father today.
Our committee desires to celebrate the example Merv set for us all and will seek nominations for the Merv Tarde “Values in Leadership” Circle each year, and present this during our annual Prayer Breakfast as a way of remembering him, and recognizing the example of others. Click here to see our previous inductees.
We have created a criteria for this award that focuses on five key areas we saw Merv setting the bar for us to follow:
- Exhibiting the Fruit of the Spirit of GOD in their life.
- Mentoring – teaching and learning with others.
- Being Available to help and serve others.
- Humility – with Merv, it was always about others.
- High Expectations of themselves and others to be the best they can be.
Who have YOU seen model this excellence in the Technology Community?
Please fill out the form below to recognize leaders that you feel meet the criteria of Leading with Excellence as Merv did. This is not a contest but rather a way of encouraging and recognizing the Godly leaders in the DFW Technology Community, and thanking them for the example they are to us all. The Nomination Committee will choose who is to be added into the Merv Tarde Values in Leadership Circle and present this at our annual DFW Technology Prayer Breakfast event.
Guidelines for Submission
Nominate someone other than yourself. If you are not sure that someone meets all the requirements just print a copy of this form and use it as a guide to interview them for consideration. If they meet the requirements you can submit the information on line below. If they don’t, it will inspire them to find new ways to impact the world around them. Either way you will have gotten to know them better and they will be honored by your efforts.
Fill out the form below completely and contact us if you need more information at [email protected]. We will contact you to acknowledge receipt of your submission and then contact the person nominated once the nomination committee has completed their evaluations in mid October.
Minimum Requirements for your nomination:
1.) The person you nominate must share our statement of Faith that Jesus is GOD, that he died for our sins, that GOD raised Him from the dead, and that Jesus is the only way in which mankind can be saved.
2.)The person you nominate must work in a Technology role, or at a Tech company. Their title is not as important as the LEADERSHIP they exhibit each day.
3.) You can enter someone for consideration each year.
Nominations will be closed two months before our event so for 2015, the cut off date for submissions is September 13. Here is a chart to help you with your submission. (click image to enlarge)
